SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's basketball program is excited to welcome the local community to the program's brand- new Basketball Performance Center for an open practice on Saturday, September 27 at 9:15 a.m.
USD women's basketball will kick off its 2025-26 campaign under the direction of first- year head coach Blanche Alverson in early November. The team will feature a refreshed roster and coaching staff as it prepares to play in the ever-competitive West Coast Conference.
San Diego brought in seven new players in the offseason, including two transfers (Helen Holley and Kylie Ray) and five freshmen (Jessica Ajayi, Ryanne Bahnsen-Price, Olivia Owens, Ysabella Von Seipler, and Ayla Williams) that are eager to make their mark on the Torero program.
Along with a returning core of dynamic eight student-athletes from last year's team, the Toreros are ready to showcase their new style of play and delight the fans in Jenny Craig Pavillion all season long.
The open practice will include a complimentary breakfast served beginning at 9:30 a.m., while the team practices for the next 90 minutes at their state-of-the-art facility. The 35-million-dollar, 28,000-square-foot
Basketball Performance Center, which opened earlier this spring, is located in the heart of USD's campus and includes a full-size practice court, meeting and film study spaces, locker rooms and coaches offices, and strength and conditioning and sports medicine facilities for both the USD men's and women's basketball programs.
