SAN DIEGO – San Diego men's tennis senior Oliver Tarvet has been named an ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) All-American in singles, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced today. The honor is the fourth of his collegiate career, extending his legacy as the most decorated players in program history.
Tarvet, a native of St. Albans, England, capped his senior season with a 21-2 singles record and a final national ranking of No. 15, closing out his collegiate career on a 15-match winning streak from the No. 1 position on the Toreros' main court. His seven ranked wins this season came over opponents ranked as high as No. 3, including victories over the No. 8 twice, No. 30, No. 56, No. 84 and No. 103 in the country.
In doubles, Tarvet went 17-2 on the season, including a perfect 13-0 record at the No. 2 spot, and finished his career on a nine-match win streak.
The All-American accolade is the culmination of a season in which Tarvet was also named WCC Player of the Year for a third consecutive year — a distinction no player in conference history has claimed more times.
Tarvet's senior year was woven into one of the most successful seasons in program history. He guided the Toreros to a 22-6 record, a fifth straight WCC Regular Season title, a third straight WCC Tournament championship and, for the first time in program history, a Sweet 16 appearance at the NCAA Tournament after hosting and winning an NCAA Regional.
"Oliver's career speaks for itself," said head coach Ryan Keckley. "Four All-American honors, three WCC Player of the Year awards, three conference tournament championships — there's never been anyone quite like him in our program. We're incredibly proud of everything he accomplished and what he meant to this team."
Tarvet finishes his four-year Torero career as a four-time First Team All-WCC selection in singles and a three-time First Team All-WCC selection in doubles. He was the 2024 ITA Singles and Doubles All-American Championships title winner — becoming just the fifth player ever to sweep the ITA All-Americans — and earned All-American recognition in singles in both 2024 and 2025 before adding this year's honor. As a freshman in 2022-23, he was named WCC Freshman of the Year and ITA Southwest Region Rookie of the Year.
