CROSS COUNTRY
Thursday, Sept. 3 — Aztec Coastal Classic | Mission Valley River Park | 6 p.m.
Both Torero squads open the season under the lights at the only night race on their six-meet calendar, hosted by San Diego State. It is one of two San Diego dates on the schedule; the WCC Championships come to Tecolote Shores in Mission Bay on Oct. 30.
VOLLEYBALL
Friday, Sept. 4 — vs. No. 8 SMU | Jenny Craig Pavilion | 7 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 6 — vs. No. 15 USC | Jenny Craig Pavilion | 2 p.m.Â
The Jack Talmadge Volleyball Classic brings two ranked opponents to the JCP for USD's home opener. The Toreros return from Honolulu at 2-1, having dropped the opener to No. 21 Baylor before beating Georgia Southern in four sets and sweeping host Hawaii inside the Stan Sheriff Center. Eleven more home dates follow, but these are the first two.

FOOTBALL
Saturday, Sept. 5 — vs. No. 6 UC Davis | Torero Stadium | 7 p.m.Â
USD opens the year against a Big Sky opponent ranked sixth in the FCS, in the first of five home games at Torero Stadium. The night doubles as the Brian Fogarty Classic and Multicultural Community Night.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Sunday, Sept. 6 — vs. Cal State Bakersfield | Torero Stadium | 4 p.m.
Back on Alcalá Park after Thursday's trip to UTEP, the Toreros are unbeaten at Torero Stadium at 1-0-1, a stretch that includes a 1-0 win over California on Aug. 23. It is also the only home match on the calendar between Aug. 23 and Sept. 26 — after Sunday, USD plays three straight away from Alcalá Park.
