What is your most memorable swimming/diving moment? Why? My most memorable swimming and diving moment is sophomore year at our taper meet in November, when I dropped time in all my events when I wasn’t expecting to. It made me feel proud of all the hard work I had been doing.
What piece of coaching and/or personal advice has stuck with you over the years?
Attitude is truly important. When things aren't going well, it can be hard to stay positive, but perserverence is mental as well as physical. If you really want to see improvement, keep your head up, don't worry about what other people say, and believe in yourself and your dreams.
Describe yourself as an athlete and as a student.
Just like any student athlete, I work hard on balancing athletics and schoolwork, looking for the perfect combination. First and foremost, I am a student, because my education is what will carry me to success later in life, but swimming is also a very important part of my identity; I do my best to give it my full effort in both the classroom and the pool.
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years? I plan to go to medical school, so I see myself working as a physician in 10 years.
