Sophomore (2013-14): MPSF All-Academic Selection (3.14)... Swam in the 50, 100, and 200 free at the 2014 MPSF Championships.
Freshman (2012-13):Swam in the 100 Free at the 2013 MPSF Championships, posting a season-best time of 53.32... Clocked her best time in the 100 Back (1:02.59) at UCLA on Nov. 9, 2012.
High School:Attended Petaluma High School where she earned four varsity letters in swimming... Earned first-team All-Empire honors as a sophomore, junior and senior... Named team MVP her junior and senior seasons... Posted a career best 53.76 in the 100 Free at the 2012 Sonoma County League Championships... Swam a 28.26 50m Free at the 2011 Los Angeles Invitational... Swam with the Santa Rosa Neptunes club team.
Personal: Born April 27, 1994 in Greenbrae, Calif.... Daughter of James Cahill... Chose USD because she felt she could really thrive in the environment and could call USD home... Was also recruited by Bryant University, Kenyon College and Chapman University... Her father, James, played basketball at Brown University.
What is your most memorable swimming/diving moment? Why?
My most memorable swimming moment would probably be when I went to my first sectionals. It was crazy to see how many swimmers were there and how fast they were. That was a meet that will stick with me forever because it really made me see what could be if I continue to train as hard as I can.
What separates this USD team from the competition?
The USD team is the only team for me! I visited a few, but the USD girls were so nice and welcoming I already felt like part of the team. They all know how to have fun and are all really close. It is like a family and that is what was really important when it came down to choosing a team.
Describe yourself as an athlete and as a student.
Both athletics and academics require a great amount of patience and concentration. As an athlete and student I am always determined to do well. I sometimes push myself too far and get stressed out, but when that happens I know how to take a step back and have a little fun.
