Two Torero programs took the West Coast Conference to the world stage — and both reached the podium. USD beach and indoor volleyball represented the University of San Diego and Team USA at the fourth FISU America Games in Lima, coming home with silver and gold.

About the Games

The FISU America Games brought together the top university athletes from across North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean for two weeks of international competition. The fourth edition ran July 20 through August 1, 2026, hosted by Lima, Peru at the Villa Deportiva Nacional (VIDENA) and other venues built for the 2019 Pan American Games.

More than 20 nations sent athletes across a full program of sports — including both beach and indoor volleyball. For the Toreros, it was a chance to measure up against the hemisphere's best while wearing USD and Team USA colors on the global stage — and they left Lima with two medals.

Beach Volleyball

USD beach volleyball made its mark on the world stage. Lauren Watson and Niki Egan stormed to the gold-medal match before falling to host Peru, earning silver at the 2026 FISU America Games in Lima, while Sam Herman and Maddy White battled to the quarterfinals.

Indoor Volleyball

Torero volleyball conquered the world stage. USD ran the table in Lima — a perfect 5-0 through pool play and the bracket, capped by a straight-sets win over Chile in the final — to capture gold at the 2026 FISU America Games. Kylie Munday was named tournament MVP.
