Biography
JUNIOR (2022-23)
- Competed in one cross country event for the Toreros
- Also competed in four track meets for the Toreros
- Had a season best in the 800m with a time of 2:00.79
SOPHOMORE (2021-22)
- Competed in two cross country races, setting an 8K PR of 29:47.2 at the USD Invite
- Raced in five track & field meets, in the 400m, 400m hurdles, 800m and 4x400m
- Set an 800m PR with a mark of 1:59.59 at the PLNU Track & Field Invitational
- Placed 14th in the 400m with a PR of 53.62 at the Cal State LA Twilight
FRESHMAN (Spring 2021)
- Did not compete during the spring cross country season
- Raced in five meets during the track & field campaign, primarily in the 800m
- Finished in the top-10 in the 800m on two occasions - the APU Franson Classic and UC Riverside Distance Invite
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
- Was a dual-sport athlete competing in cross country and football
- Served as the cross country team captain for one season
- Team placed fourth in the D2 Championships twice
PERSONAL
- Son of Milan and Jennifer Ratkovich, has two siblings Mason and Jake
- Brother Mason ran cross country and track at UCLA
- Started a club at Loyola HS to bring the Special Olympics to students and faculty
- Served his community by tutoring children to take the HSPT
- Enjoys learning how to surf and going to the beach with friends
- Chose USD because, “It is the perfect mix of challenging academics, a friendly atmosphere, and a community which encourages personal growth, all while being a walk away from the beach.”
