Biography
SENIOR (2017-18)
- Zack Wagner completed his final season with the Torero golf program
- His lone tournament of competition was at The Farms Invitational
JUNIORĀ (2016-17)
- He appeared in USD PRO Compression Invitational where he placed 68th and carded a low round of 78
SOPHOMORE (2016)
- He joined the USD men's golf program for the 2016 spring semester
- He competed in three tournaments for the Toreros and finished with a scoring average of 78.0 strokes per round
- His best finish was a tie for 40th at The Farms Collegiate Invitational
- He carded a low round of 72 at the Barona Collegiate Cup
JUNIOR COLLEGE
- Attended Palomar College where he competed on the Comets golf team
- Palomar's 2015 team won the PCAC title with a 46-4 record, won the conference tournament and went on to place fifth in the Southern California Community College tournament
- By winning the conference title, the Comets broke COD's string of 27 consecutive conference championships in the various conferences the Roadrunners have played in
- Wagner's best round for the 2015 Comets came when he shot a 69 on Feb. 2nd in the "Pnoomonia" Invitational Tournament hosted by Victor Valley College at Spring Valley Lakes Country Club in Victorville
- Other notable 2015 results included The Golf Channel Amateur Tour, The San Diego Open (1st place, 70-76), The San Clemente City Amateur (tie-8th, 69-70), the L.A. City Amateur (tie-17th, 72-73-79-72) and the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, Palomar College Tournament (1st place, 72)
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Torrey Pines High School where he was a member of the 2014 CIF championship golf team, and a three-year member of the basketball team
- In basketball he was a two-time team captain as a point guard with the team winning the league title twice (2014, 2013) and the CIF Championship once (2012)
- A 2014 all-star, he was chosen by USA Basketball to participate in the U.S. State Department U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission Basketball Exchange
PERSONAL
- At USD Wagner plans to major in Communications with a minor in Sociology
- His brother Alex competed on the Washington State golf team for four years (2011-2015)
- Zack notes he didn't start playing competitive golf until his junior year of high school
- Outside of golf he enjoys playing basketball and ping pongĀ
