Biography
USD: Enters fourth and final year with Toreros... Projected to play at No. 6 singles, as well as compete in doubles... USD's lone four-year senior will provide both leadership and experience in 2007... This past Fall season advanced to the Finals of "Flight C" singles at the Fresno State Bulldog Classic; the Round of 32 at the ITA West Regional; and won all three singles matches in the Torero Challenge... Last spring played with three different doubles partners to combine for an overall dual match record of 5-4... Sophomore campaign (2005) went 4-1 in singles and 2-0 in doubles (w/Koristovic)... Freshman year advanced to the Rd of 16 at the ITA West Regional Championships... Finished 3-1 in dual meet singles in the spring season playing both No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
High School: Prepped at Santa Margarita Catholic High School... A three-time team MVP and All-CIF performer, Matt posted a combined 85-9 record the last thee years of high school... Ranked among the Top 100 in the USTA National Junior Rankings in 2003.
Personal: Chose USD for weather, location, tennis program, and strong academics... Also recruited by UC Santa Barbara and Fresno State... Majoring in Accounting.
