Biography
Freshman (2011-12): Rowed with the novice... In the spring, competed in the WIRA Championships... During the fall, rowed in the Row 4 the Cure, NARF, San Diego Fall Classic and Long Beach Christmas Regatta.
High School: Attended Pacific Grove High School... Participated in swimming for four years and cheerleading for two... Was varsity swim team captain junior and senior year, as well as varsity swimming most valuable swimmer her junior year and won the varsity swimming Sportsmanship Award her senior year... Was Mission Trail Athletic League 50 freestyle champion her junior season... Her team took third place in their league two her junior and senior years... Competed in club swimming with Barracuda Aquatics of the Monterey Penninsula.
Personal: Born December 17, 1992 in Pacific Grove, Calif.... Parents are Terry and Kerry Peterson... Chose to attend USD because it is a beautiful school with rigorous academic programs and many opportunities for students both while they are attending the university and afterwords... Her older sister, Chelsea, rows at Long Beach State... Is involved with a scholarship program for young women in her hometown called The Feast of Lanterns, which celebrates the history of the town and offers scholarships for young women who have outstanding character, scholastic and athletic achievements and community service.
