Biography

What is the most memorable moment in your rowing career?
Traveling to Sacramento for WIRA[apos]s with the team my novice year because we were all so excited for our first WIRA[apos]s, and the entire event was, yes, a lot of work, but an amazing way to end the year with each of us laughing hysterically during every meal, car ride, and heat.

What makes the USD rowing experience so unique?
If you can find me a group of girls who mesh together this well, with a coach who pushes us this hard, with a dog who is this chill but funny, who all get to watch the sunrise over the ocean each morning, or train next dolphins and seals on occasion...you get back to me.

What is your philosophy on life?
My philosophy on life is that I don[apos]t care how many years of education the next person has, how wise they think they are, or how many degrees they have framed above their desk; you are the only person who decides what you are and are not capable of. Period. You[apos]re stronger than you think you are in every situation, you just have to prove it to yourself.

What is your favorite quote and who said it?
I beg you...to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don[apos]t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live with them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer. -Rainer Maria Rilke

What is your favorite holiday to celebrate?
Either Chanukah or Rosh Hashanah. Chanukah is probably the least important holiday of them all, contrary to common belief, but presents -- WAHOO! But Rosh Hashanah has good food, and it[apos]s the new year -- WAHOO!
