Katie Harrington joined the USD Athletics Sports Medicine staff in the fall of 2018. Her daily duties include administrative assignments, evaluation, care and prevention of athletic injuries for all of the universities intercollegiate athletes. Her primary sport responsibilities are men’s soccer, women’s tennis and women’s rowing.
 
Prior to USD, Harrington was an assistant athletic trainer at Cal State Maritime Academy from 2016 to 2018 and a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Arizona State from 2014 to 2016 with men’s and women’s track and field. A graduate of San Diego State, Harrington has also worked as an athletic trainer at Mission Bay High School and Barnes Tennis Center. She worked as an athletic training student during her undergraduate years at SDSU (women’s soccer and women’s tennis) and Southwestern College (football and women’s basketball). She earned her master’s degree from A.T. Still University and completed her thesis on "The Use of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures in Athletic Training" which was published in the Journal of Athletic Training in April 2019.

Personal
Born in San Jose, Calif., Katie’s parents are Helen Ansted and Bill Harrington. She has one sister, Emily. Outside of being an athletic trainer, she enjoys being outside, going on hikes, creating arts and crafts, gardening, and growing plants.
