-MPSF Scholar Athlete (2015 & 2016)
Junior (2015-16): Named MPSF Scholar Athlete (3.66 GPA)... Posted three season best times at the Purdue Invite: 200 breast (2:23.29), the 200 IM (2:10.71), and the 400 IM (4:35.23)... Swam the 100 breast in 1:09.40 at the MPSF Championships.
Sophomore (2014-15): Named MPSF Scholar Athlete (3.62 GPA)... Had the team's second fastest time in the 400 IM (4:.29.22)... Had the team's third fastest time in the 200 Breast (2:20.04).
Freshman (2013-14): Posted the team's best time of the season in the 200 Breast at the 2014 MPSF Championships (2:19.86)... Posted the second best time on the team in the 200 IM (2:07.02) and 400 IM (4:26.64) at the 2014 MPSF Championships... Swam career best (1:06.83) in the 100 Breast at the 2014 MPSF Championships.
High School: Was a two-year letterwinner at Vista Ridge High School... Was a US Open qualifier and Winter National qualifier in the 200 breast as a senior... Set the Nitro Swimming Club girls 15-16 record in the 400m IM... Also held Nitro records in the 200m breast and 200m fly... Named Most Improved on her Nitro club in three separate years... As a junior, was a Summer Junior National and Winter National Qualifier in the 200m breast... Swam a 2:04.63 in the 200 fly at the TXLA Jingle Bell Splash as a senior... Clocked a 2:15.83 in the 200 breast at NCSA Junior Nationals... Two-time USA Swimming Academic All-American.
Personal: Born Nov. 26, 1995 in Glendale, Ariz.... On why she chose USD: "Beautiful city, great coaching staff, close-knit team, and it just seemed like a really great place to go to college"... Was also recruited by Vanderbilt, University of Arkansas, West Virginia University, Texas Christian University, Marshall University, and Villanova University... Her older sister, Annika, swam at South Carolina and her father, Stefan, swam at New Mexico... She is a dual citizen of both the USA and Sweden... Loves reading, ocean life, and animals.
What is your most memorable swimming/diving moment? Why?
Making Junior Nationals in my 200 Breaststroke at a Grand Prix meet! It was so memorable because I didn't expect it. It was such an amazing surprise.
Describe yourself as an athlete and as a student.
I am a very self-driven athlete and student. I strive to be the best I can be in both the pool, and in the classroom. I aim to try my hardest in everything I do, demanding as close to perfection as I can get.
What piece of coaching and/or personal advice has stuck with you over the years?
"Sometimes you have to take a few steps backwards to gain the momentum to take a giant leap forward."
