USD: Earned MPSF All-Academic honors as a junior in 2010-2011 and WAC All-Academic recognition as a sophomore in 2009-2010... Named to the Dean[apos]s List each year. High School: Swimmer for All Saints Catholic Secondary School ... Team MVP her junior and senior year ... Qualified for the Canadian Nationals in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly ... Was a member of the Whitby Dolphins Swim Club... Was a Canadian national qualifier and Canadian Olympic Trial qualifier where she took 20th place in 100 and 200 butterfly. Personal: Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada on November 27, 1989 to Ann Marie and Alfonso Rodriguez ... Chose USD for the strong academics and the small, private classes as well as the excellent swim team including the swimmers, coaches, and beautiful training facilities... Was also recruited by the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Houston, and Cleveland State... Will major in Biology and pre-medical studies with the goal of becoming a doctor. What is your most memorable swimming/diving moment? Why?
At USD, my most memorable swimming/diving moment was my first competion at UCLA. I[apos]ll never forget the exhilirating and motivating atmosphere that was created by our team. What is the best part about going to school at USD? Why?
The balance that I have experienced, between athletics and academics, is the best part about going to school at USD. Our coaches care about our performance in swimming as well as school, this allows our team to succeed academically as we have had the highest athletic team GPA for the past 2 years. Describe yourself as an athlete and as a student.
As an athlete, I strive to be mentally present for each workout and always put my best into every race. Similarly, as a student I strive to perform to the best of my ability on every academic challenge. Quick Hits
