What is your most memorable swimming/diving moment? Why? My most memorable diving moment was states senior year in high school. I messed up one of my voluntary dives and was able to put it behind me and compete my last four optional dives very well, ending up 8th in the state. My high school also won the sportsmanship award during my senior year, which was a cool thing to be apart of.
Describe yourself as an athlete and as a student: Diving and academics are inversely related to me because I work very hard in both areas. I put in a lot of hard work and effort into my academics because education has always been important to me. I always train hard in diving as well because I am determined to do my best and steadily improve each day.
What piece of coaching and/or personal advice has stuck with you over the years? Keep your head up. I mean this both physically and mentally. You have to keep your head up when you’re throwing a front two and a half, but you also have to keep your head up when you do poorly on a dive and be able to move on
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years? Maybe living in Boston, maybe living in San Diego! I haven’t chosen a coast yet, but I can wait to see where I end up. I would love to be an engineer for an aerospace company because I’ve always been interested in space. Hopefully I will be doing some film production on the side as well.
