What is your most memorable swimming/diving moment? Why?
Making it on the podium at high school state my senior year. I had gotten 4th freshman, sophomore and junior year so it felt good to finally get a medal.
Describe yourself as an athlete and as a student.
I try to stay on top of my studies as much as possible by devoting a lot of my time to school, but swimming gives me the structure and discipline necessary to be successful. Also, it provides an awesome outlet for when school gets to be too intense.
What piece of coaching and/or personal advice has stuck with you over the years?
Control the controllables. As swimmers, we can't control how fast everyone around us will go, but we can control how hard we work and what we do to be successful.
