Freshman (2013-14): As USD[apos]s lone diver, set a personal best score in the 1M November 2, 2013 against UC Davis & Oregon State with a score of 211.80... Had best 3M score against San Diego State January 25, 2014.
High School: Was a three-year letterwinner at Desert Mountain High School... Team captain as a senior... Helped lead her team to an undefeated dual schedule... Was district champion her freshman, junior and senior years... Took 2nd at the Arizona State Championships as a freshman and 3rd as a senior... Won the All-City Award as a freshman and senior... Missed her entire sophomore year due to an injury.
Personal: Born Aug. 7, 1995 in Manhattan, NY.... On why she chose USD: 'I chose to attend USD because it has a great academic reputation, and I[apos]ve always dreamed of living near the ocean. Also, I was so excited that I could room with my twin sister, Mackenzie'... Was also recruited by Tulane... Her father, Joe, swam at Manhattan College... Participated in gymnastics for eight years before getting into diving... Suffered a shattered left heel prior to her sophomore season that took her six months to be able to walk again.
What is your most memorable swimming/diving moment? Why?
My most memorable moment in diving was getting 3rd at State during my senior year. I suffered a horrible injury on my foot before my sophomore year, and winning third this past season really showed how nothing can knock me down.
Describe yourself as an athlete and as a student.
As a student athlete, I am both dedicated and hardworking in the classroom and on the boards. I push myself to achieve the highest grades, while also training to be the best diver I can be.
What piece of coaching and/or personal advice has stuck with you over the years?
My dad always said 'Whether you think you can, or you think you can[apos]t, you[apos]re right.' This has guided me my whole life. I learned not to doubt myself, and with all my accomplishments so far, I have gained confidence. With this quote in my mind, I never let fear stop me from achieving my goals.
