Jonathan Curran joined the University of San Diego Athletic Department in July of 2024 as Assistant Academic Advisor and Scholar-Athlete Development Intern. In this position, Curran provides extensive academic support for VB, M/W XC/TF, and Swim/Dive scholar-athletes in alignment with the University’s commitment to holistic development. Further, Curran also oversees scholar-athlete leadership development initiatives and serves as liaison between SAAC and the community service committee, helping organize and execute community service projects in the local San Diego area.
 
Curran recently began his doctoral studies in the School of Leadership and Educational Studies at USD, where he researches athletic identity and scholar-athlete leadership development. Additionally, Curran teaches a section of LEAD 150 - Emerging Leaders, a domestic diversity 1 core fulfillment and leadership studies minor course.
 
Originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, Curran graduated with his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College of California. At Saint Mary’s, Curran was captain of the men’s golf team as well as co-president of SAAC, representing the student athlete voice on a campus, conference, and national level.
