Kiana Adams joined the University of San Diego as Assistant Athletic Director of Academic Support in January 2026. In her role, Adams oversees academic support for Torero student-athletes, assessing their academic needs and providing appropriate resources, including one-on-one appointments, learning assistant sessions, structured study hall, and tutoring.
In addition to leading the department's academic support services, Adams hires, trains, and manages USD's tutors and learning assistants. She serves as the academic advisor for women's basketball, swim and dive, and football (defensive line, special teams, and linebackers), and coordinates with USD's Disability and Learning Difference Resource Center to support student-athletes on campus.
Before arriving at USD, Adams served as Graduate Program Manager at UC San Diego from 2024 to 2026. Prior to that, she spent five years at San Diego State University as a Learning Specialist and Academic Advisor in Student-Athlete Academic Support Services from 2019 to 2024.
Adams earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology with a minor in leadership studies from San Diego State in 2019, and completed her master's in postsecondary educational leadership from SDSU in 2021.
Born and raised in San Diego, Adams enjoys traveling, reading, and running marathons.
