Piper Westrom joined the University of San Diego in December 2025. Her responsibilities include driving revenue, increasing fan engagement and growing brand affinity through strategic marketing initiatives, community outreach programs, and collaboration across the external department.
Prior to joining USD, Westrom spent nearly three years as Director of Social Media at Saint Mary's College of California. Before that, she spent a year working in professional football with the NFL Players Association and The 33rd Team.
Westrom earned her bachelor's degree in communication, with a minor in English, from Saint Mary's in the spring of 2020. She went on to earn her master's degree in sport management from the University of San Francisco in May 2022, interning and working for several organizations during graduate school, including Wasserman Media Group, the University of San Francisco and the NFL Players Association.
Westrom got her start in collegiate athletics as an undergraduate at Saint Mary's, where she worked for Gael Athletics as an Assistant Sports Information Director in the external department. She held numerous roles during her two years there, including lead statistician for multiple sports, writing game recaps, managing social media accounts and updating website information.
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Westrom moved to California in 2016 for college. She spent just shy of ten years in the Bay Area before relocating to San Diego.
