Ryan Eletto serves as Director of Compliance at the University of San Diego, a role he has held since June 2026. In his role, Eletto assists USD's 18 teams, coaches and student-athletes in complying with NCAA, conference and other rules, with a focus on playing and practice seasons, camps and clinics, and Countable Athletically Related Activity monitoring. He provides rules education and training to coaches and student-athletes, reviews compliance issues including CARA and recruiting warnings, and exercises independent judgment in interpreting and applying NCAA bylaws.
Before joining USD, Eletto served as Compliance Coordinator at San Diego State University from September 2024 to May 2026, and as a Compliance Assistant at Georgetown University from February to September 2024, in both roles supporting rules education, compliance monitoring and roster maintenance across their athletics departments.
Eletto brings more than a decade of legal experience to his compliance work. He previously served as Senior Legal Counsel–Regulatory at BetMGM, advising the sports-wagering company on gaming regulations across more than 25 jurisdictions, and spent five years in private practice as an associate at Duane Morris LLP and Bracewell LLP in Washington, D.C., focusing on regulatory, litigation and white-collar matters. He began his legal career as a law clerk to Judge Bruce E. Kasold on the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Eletto earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2014, and his bachelor's degree in print journalism, with minors in business administration and business law, from the University of Southern California in 2010. He is admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia and New York.
