Sailor Hawes

Sailor Hawes is currently in her third season as an assistant coach for the San Diego women's rowing program after joining the coaching staff ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

During Hawes' first year with the program, she helped the Toreros earn a second place team finish at the 2024 WCC Championships as a pair of Torero student-athletes won conference awards as Grace Kaufmann was named Newcomer of the Year and Emma Zavala won Co-Coxswain of the Year. 
As a student athlete at Gonzaga University, Hawes coxed the 1V8+ to back-to-back WCC Championships in 2022 and 2023 and was named WCC Coxswain of the Year for both wins. She was also named team captain her Senior year. In the Summer of 2023, she served as an assistant coach at the 9th Seat Coxswain Leadership Camp.

Hawes is a Ventura, California native and majored in biology at Gonzaga.Â
