The USD Toreros, under the direction of interim head coach Jason DesJarlais, handed visiting Marist a 47-0 setback to improve their season mark to 6-2. Senior QB Eric Rasmussen hooked up with sophomore WR Adam Hannula for three first half touchdowns, and sophomore running back Evan Harney rushed for 229 yards and 3 scores. The Toreros host Butler on Nov. 1st before closing out the regular-season at Dayton on Nov. 8th.

The Toreros jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the 1st quarter with Rasmussen connecting with Hannula for a 13-yard TD pass with 5:27 to go. Adam Williams added a 37-yard field goal with 1:50 left to close out the first half.

Evan Harney scored the first of his three rushing TDs early in the 2nd quarter on a 6-yard rush with 10:45 left. Marist lost the ball on the next kickoff due to a fumble, and the Toreros recovered. Fifteen seconds later Rasmussen found Hannula for a 34-yard score that gamve USD a 23-0 lead. Hannula added an 80-yard TD reception with 3:55 to go that put the Toreros up 30-0 at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter Harned added a 13-yard TD run, Adam Williams connected from 46-yards out with his second field goal, and Harney ended the evening's scoring with a 86-yard TD sprint.

The Toreros set a new school record for total offense with 663 yards, breaking the old mark of 648 (1973 vs. Whittier). Rasmussen completed 18-of-27 for 348 yards and 3 TDs. Hannula caught 7 balls for 209 yards and 3 TDs. Harney finished with 229 yards rushing and 3 TDs.

The Toreros host Butler this coming Saturday, Nov. 1st at 7 pm.
