The USD Toreros host the Southwest Missouri State Bears Tuesday evening (Dec. 9th) at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. The game, which will also be televised on Channel 4 San Diego (Jim Laslavic, play-by-play; Jim Brogan, color), will tip-off at 7:05 pm. The Toreros, coming off a tough loss at Utah on Saturday, have played well this season on their home floor. USD beat SMU 68-65 in their home opener, and battled back from 20 points down against SDSU before falling 66-63. Junior forward Brandon Gay saw 16 minutes of action against Utah and will be playing his first game in the JCP.
The Tio Leos Torero Talk (6 pm to 6:40 pm) will be webcast at www.usdtoreros.com beginning at 6:00 p.m. with host Jack Murray. Once again he'll interview USD coaches, players, alumni and Torero staff. The Brad Holland Pre-game Show, with announcer Jerry Gross, will air at 6:45 p.m. followed by the game broadcast at 7:05 pm, also at www.usdtoreros.com. The radio broadcast, on ESPN 800 AM, will be delayed and aired at 10:00 pm.
USD is 0-1 against the SMS Bears having lost to them back in 1991. Through 7 games the Toreros are being paced by Brice Vounang (16.7 ppg), Nick Lewis (11.1 ppg) and Brett Melton (10.3 ppg).
