SAN DIEGO (AP) - Sherman Gay scored 25 points and Keith Kincade added 23 points to lift Loyola Marymount to 76-68 victory over San Diego Thursday night.
Loyola Marymount (9-6, 1-2 West Coast Conference) shot 63 percent in the second half to take control after trailing 34-31 at halftime. The Lions shot just 41.4 percent in the first half.
Brice Vounang tied his career high with 25 points for San Diego (3-13, 0-1), which lost its fifth consecutive game.
Gay, who was one point short of his career high, scored 13 points in the second half as Loyola Marymount made 17 of 27 shots from the floor.
Kincade, who had 16 first-half points, made four of five shots from 3-point range, hit all five free throws and had a team-high seven rebounds.
Vounang scored 21 first-half points, but took just four shots in the second half. Vounang also grabbed 15 rebounds, one shy of his career best, and had five assists and four steals.
Brandon Gay added 16 points for the Toreros, who played just their fifth home game of the season. San Diego shot 55.8 percent from the floor, but committed 26 turnovers.
