After a strong showing at the ITA Women's Western Regional Championships, USD junior Emma Murphy fell to USC's Lindsey Nelson in the round of 16 by scores of 6-1 and 6-3. The tournament, co-hosted by USD and San Diego State, was held at the Barnes Tennis Center. UCLA's Riza Zalameda would go on to claim the singles championships over Nelson by scores of 7-5 and 6-3 on Monday. Zalameda was a two-time champion on Monday as she and teammate Daniela Bercek defeated the duo of Pilecka/Burkett of Arizona State to claim the doubles championship title as well.
