Emma Murphy Wins Flight A Championship

Junior Emma Murphy (Cork, Ireland) defeated SDSU's Dita Hauerlandova today in the championship match of the SDSU Fall Tennis Classic by scores of 6-3, 7-6. It was Murphy's third straight singles victory for the weekend in earning the title. Lauren Kazarian dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Houston's Kami Miller in the Flight B final. Murphy and Kazarian also teamed up to win the Double Championship, beating SDSU's duo of Hauerlandova/Erichsen, 8-6.

In other Flight A action from Saturday, USD's Brittany Reitz beat SDSU's Indra Erichsen, 7-5, 7-5 while Helene Lindstrand dropped a 6-2, 6-1 match to Alabama's Melissa Minor. In other Flight B play, Jenna Anderson was beaten by SDSU's Sarah Sansom, 6-2, 7-5.
