USD 4th of 19 at Hawaii's Turtle Bay Intercollegiate

(Kahuku, HI) - The University of San Diego continued its march up the scoreboard on the final day of the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate Golf Tournament. The Toreros shot the second best team score (297) on a tough Wednesday to finish the tournament in fourth place. It marks Tim Mickelson's highest team finish as a head coach, matching last year's fourth place finish in the West Coast Conference Tournament. There were only four rounds under par on the final day, compared to 28 rounds in the red a day earlier. Freshman Bucky Coe led the way for San Diego, shooting three consecutive great rounds (70-69-73; 212) to finish in second place out of 105 competitors at 4-under par. Kevin Riley (77-68-74; 219) and Michael Shelly (76-70-74; 220) each shot a final round score of 2-over 74 to finish in the Top 25. The University of Hawaii won the event, finishing at 2-under par (291-276-295). Hawaii's Cody Wolfenbarger won the individual event with a 10-under 206 (69-66-71).
