First year University of San Diego head football coach Jim Harbaugh has put the finishing touches on his coaching staff and he couldn't be happier with the result. Returning from the 2003 team will be Jason DesJarlais, the team's defensive coordinator and defensive line coach; Tim Drevno, the team's offensive coordinator and offensive line coach; and Mike Fisher, who will coach the wide receivers after handling the tight ends this past season. New to the staff will be a solid mix of coaches that have experience at both the NFL and collegiate levels - they include Dave Adolph, a longtime NFL coach who will handle the linebackers; Charles Dimry, a former NFL cornerback who played with five different teams, will coach the defensive backs; Matt Hohman, former offensive coordinator at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio, will be running backs coach and Special Team's Coordinator; Jimmy Dougherty, former secondary coach at Illinois Wesleyan, will assist with the secondary and outside linebackers; Reggie Davis, a former tight end for the San Diego Chargers (1999-2000), will be the tight ends coach; and Scott Aurich, a former collegiate player and local businessman, will assist with the defense.
"I am extremely excited about this staff," said USD head coach Jim Harbaugh. "They have very high character and integrity, and will also have the ability to teach and coach our student-athletes. This is an extremely talented staff that brings enormous experience in both playing and coaching backgrounds."
