Women Defeat LMU in Final Match of 2005 Season

(Los Angeles, CA) The Toreros traveled to LMU for their final match of the 2005 regular season defeating the Lions 2-0.

USD and LSU went scoreless in the first half of play as the Lions took 8 shots to the Toreros 2. In the 54th minute, forward Amy Epsten got a pass at mid-field. Epsten slipped through LMU's defense into the penalty box. From 10 yards out she shot and scored lifting USD to a 1-0 lead.

Forward Lee Klopschinksi sealed the game when in the 72nd minute, she was deep in Lions territory. Klopschinski dribbled up the right side when from 10 yards out she took her shot aimed at the right post. It slipped just inside the post for the goal and a Torero 2-0 lead. The assist was credited to forward Kristin Carter.

LMU out-shot USD 20-10, and goalie Brittany Cameron recorded 7 saves in the match. The shut-out puts the Toreros at 2-5-0 in the WCC and they finish 6-12-1 overall.
