(Athens, GA) -- Junior Emma Murphy (Cork, Ireland), USD's two-time WCC Women's Tennis Player of the Year, was knocked out of the 2005 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Individual Championships today by No. 5 seed Jennifer Magley of Florida. Magley, a junior from Bradenton, Florida, edged out USD's Murphy by scores of 7-6, 6-4. Magley erased a 4-3 2nd set Murphy advantage.

Murphy advanced to the 2nd round after defeating sophomore Megan Moulton-Levy (Monroe, MI) of William & Mary in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5. Murphy, currently ranked 35th in the ITA national rankings, completes her outstanding junior campaign with an overall singles record of 24-8.
