(San Diego, CA) The USD Toreros returned to the USD West Tennis Courts and finished their opening match of the 2007 WCC Championships by defeating No. 6 seed USF, 4-1. The Toreros, seeded No. 3, advance to today's 1:30 p.m. semi-final against No. 2 Santa Clara. Pepperdine, the No. 1 seed, will face No. 5 Saint Mary's in the other semi. When yesterday's match was suspended due to rain, the match was tied 1-all. USD returned today to earn wins at No. 2 (Chris Coetzee), No. 5 (Ryo Sekiguchi) and No. 6 (Matt Ozurovich) singles to advance. Today's consolation matches (#4 Portland vs. #8 Gonzaga; #6 LMU vs. #7 USF) are being played at San Diego State.
