First Round Results 
El Cajon, CA - The USD golf team is the first round leader at the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational being played at the Willow Glen Golf Course (par 72; 6687 yards). The Toreros shot a blistering 12-under par 276 team score in the morning first round and lead Colorado State by four strokes. The Toreros are currently playing the second round with hopes of finishing up before dark. Jason Shano fired a 67 (32-35) and is tied with Alex Kang of San Diego State who is playing as an individual. Torero freshman Alex Ching is tied for third and is just one stroke back of Shano at 68 (31-37). Senior Darrin Hall also shot a top-10 score with his 70 (35-35), and is followed by seniors Blake Trimble (tie-18th at 71; 38-33) and Jake Yount (tie-52nd at 73; 38-35).
USD players competing as individuals include Dale Smith (tie-10th at 70; 33-37), Ian Coffman (tie-32nd at 72; 37-35), Ben Murray (tie-87th at 76; 38-38) and Gunner Wiebe (tie-98th at 77; 38-39). A total of 20 teams and 120 individuals are competing in the two-day event.
