Final Results 
(South Bend, IN) - The USD men's golf team shot a final round team score of 303 to finish in 12th place (904 total) at the 2008 Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic being hosted by the University of Notre. Arkansas (863) held off UC Davis (867) who finished with the best final round team score of 280. Michigan State's Randy Hutchison fired a final round 69 to finish at even-par 210 and claim medalist honors. He edged out two competitors from Arkansas - Andrew Landry (211) and Jamie Marshall (212). Rounding out the top five was Michigan State (871), Minnesota (874) and Lamar (879).
For USD, Darrin Hall (75-76-75) and Dale Smith (72-75-79) tied for 39th with their three-round totals of 226 over the par-71 Warren Golf Course. Senior Blake Trimble, who shot the team's low final round score of 74, finished tied for 50th at 229 (76-79-74). He was joined by freshman Alex Ching at 229 (79-73-77). Rounding out the USD scoring was Ben Murray who tied for 62nd at 232 (80-75-77).
USD's next competition will be at the Sycuan Collegiate on October 20th and 21st.
