Final Results 
(Rancho Santa Fe, CA) - The host USD Toreros placed second out of fifteen teams competing in the 2008 USD Callaway Golf Invitational. San Diego shot a final round team score of 285 to finish at 861 overall, one stroke better than WCC foe Saint Mary's College. Wichita State won the team title at 853 with a final team total of 283. Dustin Garza won medalist honors with a final score of 210 (71-69-70). USD's Gunner Wiebe tied for 3rd place at 213 (70-70-73), while Blake Trimble finished tied for 6th at 216 (69-74-73). The marks the third straight year that the Toreros finished in third place in this event.
Rounding out San Diego players competing in the team event were Jason Shano (t-11th at 218; 69-81-68), Darrin Hall (t-25th at 223; 76-70-77) and Jake Yount (t-43rd at 227; 78-75-74). Toreros playing as individuals were Joe Panzeri (t-25th at 223; 73-77-73), Ian Coffman (t-48th at 229; 79-75-75), Dale Smith (t-64th at 232; 75-83-74) and Ben Murray (78th at 243; 81-73-89).
