The USD golf team will head to Ann Arbor, Michigan this weekend to participate in the 2008 Wolverine Intercollegiate. Hosted by the University of Michigan, and played at the U-M Golf Course (par 71 and 6,704 yards), the field will include 15 teams with 54 holes played over two days. On Saturday, September 20th, the first 18 holes will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 am. The second round will also be played on Saturday, with Sunday's final round beginning at 8:30 am. Besides USD and Michigan, the field will include Cal, Colorado State, Columbia, Eastern Michigan, Gardner Webb, Iowa State, Michigan State, Missouri, Oakland, UC Davis, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and Xavier.
USD, which is coming off a 5th place showing in their season-opener at the San Francisco Intercollegiate (The Olympic Club), will be sending the following players to Ann Arbor - freshman Alex Ching (Honolulu, HI), senior Darrin Hall (Golden, CO), sophomore Jason Shano (Scottsdale, AZ), junior Dale Smith (England), and sophomore Kenneth McCready (Placerville, CA). Both Ching and Hall tied for 12th in last week's tournament.
