(Wahiawa, HI) - The USD men's golf team fired a final day team score of 285 to finish at 856 (8-under-par), good for a 10th place showing (17 teams) at the 2009 John Burns Intercollegiate being played at the Leilehua Golf Course (par 72; 6,917 yards). USD senior Jake Yount fired a final round three-under-par 69 and finished tied for 10th place overall at 210 (-6). Texas A&M, on the strength of today's team score of 272, won the team title with a three-day total of 836. Rounding out the top-3 was New Mexico (839) and Arizona (840).

New Mexico's James Erkenbeck carded a final round 65 and won medalist honors with a three-round total of 205. He edged out Arizona's Tarquin Macmanus (206). Rounding out USD scoring was Jason Shano (t-33 at 215; 70-73-72), Gunner Wiebe (t-42 at 216; 73-71-72), Alex Ching (t-49 at 218; 75-71-72) and Kenneth McCready (t-69 at 223; 72-76-75).
