Final Barona Collegiate Cup Results 
(Lakeside, CA) - The USD Toreros finished with a final day team score of 362 to finish in 4th place overall (1076) at the ten-team Barona Collegiate Cup. Colorado State (1051; -29) shot a final day score of 340 and edged host San Diego State 91057; -23) by six strokes. New Mexico (1069; -11) placed third overall while New Mexico State (1078; -2) placed 5th behind the Toreros.
USD senior Blake Trimble fired a final round 73 and placed 5th overall at 210 (-6). Colorado State's Dustin Morris (203; -13) shot a final round score of 66 and won medalist honors by three strokes over New Mexico's Steve Saunders (206). New Mexico State's Travis Reid and SDSU's Matt Hoffenberg tied for third at 209.
USD freshman Alex Ching fired the team's best final round score with a 69. He moved up twelve spots to finish in a tie for 11th at 215. He was joined in the 11th spot by teammate Jason Shano (70-69-76). Rounding out USD scoring was Gunner Wiebe (t29 at 220; 76-73-71), Ian Coffman (t29 at 220; 72-75-73), and Darrin Hall (t36 at 223).
Next up for USD is the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championships at The Farms Golf Club March 22-24. This event which USD is co-hosting with the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) is free to the public.
