Vallejo, CA - The USD men's golf team finds itself in 6th place after two rounds of the 2009 West Coast Conference men's golf championships. USD, last year's WCC champion, posted team scores of 295-283 for a two-over par total of 578. The USF Dons, who were in 6th place after first round play, bolted into the lead with a second round 271 and 11-under total of 565. LMU (569), Pepperdine (574), Santa Clara (574) and Portland (576) are ahead of the Toreros. Gonzaga (584) and Saint Mary's (591) round out the team scoring. Final round action begins Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. at Hiddenbrooke Golf Course.

USD graduate student Ian Coffman was the team's top performer and finds himself tied for 6th place at 140 (71-69). LMU's Greg Moss is the two-round leader in the clubhouse with a 9-under par 135 (67-68). He leads USF's Domingo Jojola (137; 70-67) and a trio of players at 139. Rounding out USD scoring is senior Blake Trimble (t12 at 143; 74-69), freshman Alex Ching (t18 at 146; 74-72), sophomore Gunner Wiebe (t28 at 149; 76-73) and sophomore Jason Shano (32nd at 151; 78-73).
