Round Three Tee Times
DALY CITY, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's golf team moved up four spots into third place at the NCAA West Regionals. The Toreros shot a team score of 10-under par 278 on day two and with a two-day total of 566 find themselves trailing just Arizona State (554) and Oregon (560) in the thirteen team regional. With one round to play, the top five teams will advance to Nationals.
Four Toreros shot sub-par rounds with sophomore Gunner Wiebe leading the way with an outstanding 68. He was joined by freshman Alex Ching (69), graduate student Ian Coffman (70) and senior Blake Trimble (71). Jason Shano rounded out USD's scoring with a 75. Arizona State was the only other team to shoot a better team score than the Toreros with a 275. USD's 278 was matched by Oregon.
Through two rounds Coffman and Ching are both tied for 13th overall at 141; Trimble finds himself tied for 20th overall (143), and Wiebe remains in the top-30 at 144.
Final round action on Saturday from the Lake Merced Golf Club has the Toreros scheduled to tee off between 9:40 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. from the first tee.
