Final Results 
(La Quinta, CA) - The 24th-ranked USD golf team turned in the best final day team score (286) at the 15-team The Prestige at PGA WEST event today and finished in 4th place alone at 870. The Cal Bears won the team event with a three-day total of 864, followed by Stanford and Washington each finishing second at 867.
Senior Gunner Wiebe (Denver, CO) led the final day charge with a 4-under par 68 over the Stadium Course (par 72; 7,300 yards). Wiebe (76-74-68) moved up into a final place of tied for 15th at 218 with teammate Scott Brace (74-73-71). USD junior Alex Ching carded a final round 75 to finish at 214, good for a tie for 6th overall. Teammate Joe Harrison, playing as an individual in the tourney, matched Ching's 6th place showing at 214 (71-74-69). Rounding out team scoring for the Toreros was Jason Shano (T28 at 223; 76-73-74) and Kenneth McCready (T41 at 225; 75-77-73). Ben Murray, also playing as an individual, shot a final round 75 to finish at 231 (63rd overall).
Stanford's Andrew Yun ran away with medalist honors with a three-round total of 204 (-12). He fired rounds of 70, 69, 65 to beat out runner-up Thomas Buran of Arizona State (210; 68-74-68). USD's finish is their third straight top-5 finish following their 2nd place showing at Falcon Invitational in Colorado Springs, and last week's first place finish at the Wolf Pack Classic in Nevada.
The Toreros will look to continue their stellar play when they compete next at the University of Hawaii Kauai Invitational (October 24-26).
