Toreros hold comfortable lead at Kauai Collegiate

Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii - Through two of three rounds at the Kauai Collegiate Invitational, the USD Toreros are in first place (560; -16) playing at the Puakea Golf Course (par 72; 6954 yards). USD senior Gunner Wiebe (Denver, CO), who opened with a 66 in round one play on Sunday, followed up with a 71 today and leads the individual race at 137 (-7). He is followed by Scott Malo of British Columbia (140; 71-69) and USD teammate Manav Shah (141; 71-10). USD junior Alex Ching moved up into a tie for 5th at 142 after today's 70. Other Torero scoring is coming from Scott Brace (T7 at 143; 75-68) and Joe Harrison (T`8 at 149; 72-77). Rounding out the top three teams in the 10 team tourney is British Columbia (571; -5) and Hawaii (582; +6). USD has won this event the past two seasons.
