Final Results 
(Stateline, NV) - With today's third round getting rained out, the 22nd-ranked USD men's golf has been declared the 2010 Wolf Pack Classic team champion. Junior Alex Ching (Honolulu, HI) returns to San Diego with medalist honors as well with his two-round total of 137 (67-70). He edged out Nevada's Chris Plappert (139; 67-72).
On Monday the 22nd-ranked USD men's golf team turned in the best team score in first day action of the 2010 Wolf Pack Classic being hosted by the University of Nevada at the Edgewood-Tahoe Golf Course (par 72; 7,445 yards) in Stateline, Nevada. Led by a trio of players that fired top-10 scores among the 80 golfers in the field, USD sat at the top of the leaderboard with a 564 team score.
Ching was followed by teammates Gunner Wiebe (tie-3rd at 140; 71-69), Kenneth McCready (tie-9th at 142; 69-73), Scott Brace (tie-18th at 145; 73-72) and Jason Shano (tie-55th at 151; 78-73).
Rounding out the top-5 for teams was host Nevada (576), Fresno State (577), San Francisco (578) and Washington State (578).
Already with a team title and 2nd place finish to start the Fall season, USD will look to continue its solid play at The Prestige Tournament (Oct. 10-12).
