2010 All-America Team 
(San Diego, CA) - USD sophomore golfer Alex Ching (Honolulu, HI) was named to the Division I Ping All-America honorable mention team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Ching, who tied for second at the 2010 NCAA National Championships with his 8-under-par 208 total (69-66-73), helped lead the 16th-ranked Toreros to a tie for 8th at the recently played 2010 Championships at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee.
For the season Ching finished with a team-best scoring average of 72.23 (38 rounds). Besides his second round 66 at Nationals that set a new course tournament record, he was also the clubhouse leader after 36 holes with a new course tournament record of 135 (previous mark was 136; Tiger Woods, 1996). Back in February Ching also tied the tournament single round mark with a 64 on his way to garnering medalist honors at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Mardi Gras Invitational at TPC Louisiana Course.
Additionally, he was a perfect 4-0 during the Callaway Match play Championships in Arizona; was second at the USD Callaway Invitational, and finished third at the prestigious USC Collegiate Invitational where he finished at 7-under-par 206 (74-68-64).
For the second straight year Ching was named First Team All-West Coast Conference. As a freshman last year he was named to the Ping Freshman All-America team after finishing 13th overall at Nationals.
