San Diego came out of the gates ready to play, as they opened up the game on a 6-2 run over the first 4:39 of action to grab the early momentum. The Tigers then answered the run with a 8-4 run of their own to pull even with USD at 10-all with 13:03 to go. The half continued to be a series of runs, as a Woodrow lay-up sparked a 10-3 run that was bookended on a Woodrow lay-up to give USD a 20-13 lead with 8:25 to go. Pacific then began to slowly chip away at the lead and eventually took a one-point lead at 25-24 on a Erica McKenzie lay-up with 2:32 to go. However, a pair of Kame free throws then gave USD a one-point edge at 26-25 going into the break.

In the second half, USD would go on a 13-4 run to open up things over the first four minutes of play to take a 38-29 lead with 16:13 to go , grabbing all the momentum. USD then went on to build up its first double-digit lead at 47-36 on a Woodrow lay-up with 13:51 to go. San Diego was then able to withstand a few Tiger runs and regained its double-digit lead for good on a Woodrow jumper at the 11:04 mark, and never looked back. USD just gradually built up its lead over the remaining eight minutes of the game and settled for a 20-point win.

For the Tigers, Ashley Wakefield paced the team with 24 points, while McKenzie was the second of three players in double figures with 16 points and the final Pacific player to record double figures was Kendall Rodriguez, as she had 10 points. As a team, Pacific shot .324 from the field.
