The Toreros best scoring opportunity came in the bottom of the third inning, as Julian Duran got things started with a single through the left side. After Duran stole second, he moved to third on a Jon Hotta ground out to the pitcher. But the Toreros were unable to pick up the run, as Kevin Muno then lined out the the shortstop, preserving the 1-0 contest.

The Toreros defense then held strong, as the Huskies loaded the bases on several occasions over the next several innings, stranding 14 batters on base until the eighth inning came, when they finally were able to add an insurance run, as they scored on a a Nemeth RBI fielder's choice to move the score to 2-0. UCONN would strand 17 total batters on base in the game thanks to solid defensive and pitching efforts by the Toreros.

UCONN would then add two more runs in the top of the ninth inning to put the game at its final of 4-0.

Offensively for the Toreros, Duran and Corey LeVier were the lone hits on the day for the Toreros, as both players went 1-for-3.
