Final Stats

(Chula Vista, CA) - The 19th-ranked Toreros placed 4th at the 2011 San Diego Intercollegiate presented by TaylorMade/Lamkin Grips played the past two days at historic San Diego Country Club (par 72; 7,033 yards). USD shot a final round team score of 375 to finish at 1,110 (+30). SMU and Texas-Arlington finished in a tie at 1,093 and the SMU Mustangs earned the team title based off a card-off between each team's No. 6 player. SMU's Aaron Stewart carded a 73 to UTA's Brad Lyle's 77. UTA's Paul McConnell won medalist honors with a 2-under par 214 (72-72-70) as he bested SMU's Kelly Kraft by one shot (70-69-76).

USD senior Jason Shano shot a final round 69 to move up 15 spots and finish in a tie for 5th at 1-over par 217 (75-73-69). Alex Ching, the two round leader, shot a final round 79 to finish tied for 7th at 218. USD freshman Manav Shah, playing as an individual, also tied for 7th overall as he shot three solid rounds of 73-73-72. Rounding out USD scoring was Scott Brace (T14 at 221; 76-72-73), Ben Murray (T39 at 229; 73-73-83), Gunner Wiebe (T43 at 231; 76-79-76) and Leon Knoll (T46 at 232; 76-78-78).
