First Day Results 
Second Round Tee Times/Pairings 
(Rancho Santa Fe, CA) - The USC Trojans, the No. 3 seed in the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Golf San Diego Regional, jumped out to a commanding lead after turning in a 10-under par 278 first day total on The Farms Golf Club track (par 72; 6,903 yards). The USC tandem of Jeffrey Kang (66) and Steve Lim (68) led the Trojan charge. Top-seed UCLA and No. 3 seed Texas both turned in 1-under par team totals of 287 on the day. Rounding out the top five is North Texas (293; +5) and tournament host San Diego (294; +6).
Individuals joining Kang and Lim in the top-5 include Dylan Frittelli of Texas (T2 at 68; -4), UCLA's Patrick Cantlay (T4 at 69; -3), UNLV's Derek Ernst (T4 at 69; -3) and USF's Mat Miller (T4 at 69; -3). The 23rd-ranked USD Toreros were paced by freshman Manav Shah (T7 at 70; -2) and 5th-year senior Kenneth McCready (T17 at 72; E). Rounding out USD scoring was junior Alex Ching (T44 at 76), senior Ben Murray (T44 at 76) and senior Gunner Wiebe (T64 at 80).
Second round play continues Friday morning at 8:00 am with teams teeing off on both the 1st and 10th holes. Following the completion of Saturday's final round of the 54-hole regional, the top five teams and top individual not part of the top 5 finishing teams will advance to Nationals. Admission to the San Diego Regional is free to the public.
