Toreros wrap up play at Jack Nicklaus Invitational

(Dublin, OH) - The USD men's golf team placed 9th overall at the two-day, 36-hole Jack Nicklaus Invitational which was played at historic Muirfield Village Golf Club (par 72; 7352 yards). The Toreros shot a final round team score of 313 to finish at 622 (+46). Kent State rallied to win the event by 3 strokes over Oklahoma State with a final tournament tally of 605 (+29).

Torero sophomore Grant Forrest finished tied for 9th place with a two-round total of 150 (73-77; +6). First round leader Greg Eason of UCF held on to win medalist honors at 4-under par 140 (70-70). Rounding out scoring for USD was junior Mathias Dahl (T18 at 154; 79-75), sophomore Linus Vaisanen (T35 at 158; 76-82), sophomore Alexis Gemme-Piacente (T44 at 160; 81-79) and freshman Alex Chiarella (58th at 171; 82-89).

USD returns to action on October 22-23 when they compete in the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley, California.
