Toreros Fall to No. 5 Pilots 2-0

PORTLAND, Ore. - The University of San Diego (9-7-0, 2-3-0) women's soccer team fell to the sixth-ranked Portland Pilots (13-1-1, 5-0-0) 2-0 Thursday night at Merlo Field Thursday evening.

The Pilots, who have now won ten matches in a row, notched their first goal in the 36th win minute when Ellen Parker finished an Emily Sippel blocked shot.

The Toreros trailed 1-0 at halftime, but the Pilots extended their lead two minutes in to the second half when Noelle LaPrevotte slipped the ball past a charging Michelle Craft into the lower left corner of the goal.

Senior forward Emily Dillon led the Toreros' offensive attack with four shots, putting two on target.

Sophomore goalkeeper Michelle Craft collected five saves but was saddled with the loss. The Pilots' goalkeeper Erin Dees had four saves in the shutout.

The Toreros will travel to Spokane, Wash. to take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
